PLANET LONDON GOES IN QUEST OF THE LESBIAN SCENE

No votes yet

Following recent (and not so recent) closures of well known lesbian venues, as well as the ebb and flow of events aimed at the lesbians and bisexual women on long, and the general fast-changing nature of the “scene” for gay women in London, Planet London is embarking on a survey to find out where lesbians go out and where they want to be going out. This survey is sponsored and supported by members of the community including G3 Magazine, GoGo Festival and Exclusively Pride.

Katie, Co-founder of Planet London said “Alongside a demise of independent lesbian venues, this leaves a tiny selection of women-only or women-centred gay venues around, which are aimed at a small section of the hugely diverse lesbian, bisexual, queer women's community in London. If you want a safe space in which to go for a quiet drink and a bite to eat where do you go now?”

Naomi, Co-founder of Planet London said “We are hoping to build a picture of the social community of lesbians and bisexual women of London. We want to help ensure a thriving and diverse social community and knowing what lesbians and bisexual women of London like is an important part of that.”

The key findings of this survey will be published on the Planet London website and will be shared with clubs, societies, venues & event organisers, gay businesses and gay media to help shape the nightlife and social community for lesbians and bisexual women in the future.
