Mysterious Skin actors scoop Dublin Gay Theatre Festival awards

File 680Oliver Walker and Julie Addy have triumphed with their performances in Mysterious Skin at this year's International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival.

Oliver Walker, who recently appeared in the West End production of Oliver!, won the Micheál Mac Liammóir Award for Best Male Performance for his portrayal of Neil, a New York street hustler.

Julie Addy, an Irish actor set to star in the forthcoming feature film Seven Songs for Amy, collected the Eva Gore-Booth Award for Best Female Performance for playing Wendy.

Presented by Em-Lou Productions and The Drill Hall, director Peter Darney's award-winning production of Prince Gomolvilas' adaptation of Scott Heim's world-famous book and cult film won audience and critical acclaim at last year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
